K-Tape for Injuries at The Fenchurch Chiropractic Clinic, The City, London

Wondered what all that tape was in last years Olympics?! That was K-Tape, it is hugely popular and great for injuries. The tape is perfect for supporting injured areas, without restricting movement. It increases healing time and helps drain oedema. Kinesiology tape can also be used to pull back a shoulder that is hunching forward. Or to reduce swelling in a joint, tape can be used to pull up the skin and create an area of low pressure where fluid can move and drain. The tape also provides stimulation to skin cells that affects pain pathways—similar to rubbing a spot that hurts.Tape can be applied along the length of a tired muscle for support. It allows the muscles to go on vacation for a day or two so they come back healed.

Dr Emma Biddell (Doctor of Chiropractic) specialises in applying K-tape to improve biomechanics and to increase healing time.
